Solon Springs celebrates fall equinox with festival
The 10th annual Fall Equinox Festival is Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Solon Springs.
The festival celebrates the fall harvest and pays tribute to all that this charming community has to offer. The theme is "homemade or homegrown."
The main street will be blocked off from County Road A to just beyond The Little Gift House and will be lined with vendors showcasing their art, crafts and homemade goods. This will include wood carvings, photographs, quilts, soaps, candles, garments, gifts and food.
Food vendors will be selling homemade fare, pumpkins, squash, wild rice and apples. There will also be informational tables about local organizations, attractions and services offered in the area, as well as live music and games for kids.
In case of inclement weather, the festival will set up in the historic Solon Springs Village Hall on Main Street.
This event is sponsored by The Little Gift House and other local businesses as a way to honor and give back to the communities they serve.
Visitors may also enjoy a fall color hike along the wooded trails of Lucius Woods Park on the shores of Lake St. Croix. It is located just steps away from the downtown festivities.
