Re-enactor casts light on personal, professional struggles
Well-known historical re-enactor Jessica Michna takes to the stage as Golda Meir at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Douglas County Historical Society.
Meir was born in the Ukraine, emigrated to the United States with her parents and settled in Milwaukee during her youth. She would rise to become the prime minister of Israel during the turbulent, war-torn 1960s.
This historical dramatization casts light on the personal and political struggles of her life.
Jessica Michna has already appeared at DCHS in the roles of Eleanor Roosevelt, Mary Todd Lincoln, Dolly Madison, Helen Keller, Laura Ingalls Wilder and other prominent historical women.
