Assembly debate canceled, interviews to air
Candidates running for the 74th Assembly seat will not debate as scheduled at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. Instead, one-on-one interviews with Incumbent Democrat Beth Meyers and Republican Challenger Jeff Fahl of Phillips will follow a one-hour program featuring candidates in the 7th Congressional District race on Monday, Nov. 5.
Wisconsin Public Radio will broadcast part of a debate between U.S. House Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Weston, and Democratic Challenger Margaret Engebretson of Balsam Lake at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5 on WPR stations.
The program will also feature an interview with direct participatory democracy candidate Ken Driessen of Hayward.
Following the 7th Congressional District program, WPR will air half-hour interviews with State Rep. Beth Meyers, D-Bayfield, and former Phillips mayor Jeff Fahl, R-Phillips, at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. on WPR stations.
The programs will air on WPR stations WSSU-FM 88.5 in Superior, WHSA-FM 89.9 in Brule, WHWA-FM 104.7 in Washburn, WHBM-FM 90.3 in Park Falls and WUWS-FM 90.9 in Ashland.
The programs will be available online at wpr.org/superior.
The general election takes place Tuesday, Nov. 6.
