Spartan spikers sweep East

The Superior High School volleyball team improved to 18-7 with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-19) win over Duluth East during the annual “Dig Pink” event Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the SHS gym.

Autumn Siers, who recently surpassed 1,000 career set assists, added to her total with 20 more Tuesday night.

Other Spartan stats included: Chloe Wilson, 11 digs and eight kills; Caleigh Jensen, seven digs, 14 kills and four blocks; and Hannah Hughes, 16 digs.

Up next for the Spartans is the the Esko Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Superior is in Pool 1 with Proctor, South Ridge and International Falls.

Pool 2 includes Hermantown, Esko, Coon Rapids and International Falls.
