Keith S. Holden

Keith S. Holden, 90, an Arizona resident, died Sunday, November 4, 2018, in his daughter and son-in-law's home in Arizona City, AZ. Before that, he was a resident of Superior, WI, Park Falls, WI and Fountain Hills, AZ. He was born on June 16, 1928 in Superior, WI to Sylvester "Sy" and Irene (Conner) Holden. He graduated from Cathedral School, and then went on to graduate from Boise State Junior College. He also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He resided in Park Falls for over 40 years and was married to LaVerne Holden until her passing in June of 2016. While living in Park Falls, Keith was very instrumental in getting the Park Falls Area Chamber of Commerce off the ground, where he served as president for 2 years. He was also a member and past President of the Lions Club.

He and LaVerne built the KFC store in Park Falls and Medford. They ran the Park Falls store for 18 years before they opened what was once called The Shirt Shop and then Screen Graphics. After retiring, he passed the business down to his son Jim, who then moved it up to Superior and is now owned by Michael Holden.

While Keith lived in Superior, he was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Lions Club, American Legion and the VFW.

Keith is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Raivala, Arizona City, AZ and Susan (Tim) Stolts, Dodgeville, WI; two sons, Michael (Larissa) Holden and William Holden, both of Superior, WI and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by six stepchildren: Joyce (Gary) Christopherson, Janet Peterson (Jamie Cady), JoAnn (Terry) Ides, Julie Peterson (George Andrade), Jean (Mike) Gottwald, John Peterson, many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Eleanor, second wife LaVerne, son, James Holden, daughter-in-law Camille Holden, brother Robert Holden, sisters Laura Jean Lucia and Patty Walsten. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Nathan Cabreana.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Superior.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
